Rockpile has proven ideal for the development of our 10 distinctly different hillside vineyards. Rockpile Wines are everything you'd expect: intense, powerful and complex. We are extremely proud to be the largest grower and producer of Rockpile wines.
Flavors of black currant, blackberry and dark chocolate jump out of the glass. Focused on the entry, this wine has great weight without being clumsy. Flavors of currant and plum give way to the subtler nuances of sweet oak and earthen spice.

Aromas of fresh baked bread pudding topped with blackberry reduction waft from the glass. Rich flavors of dried black fig, molasses and cocoa shavings greet your palate.
The Jack’s Cabin Zinfandel has a reputation of being the most fruit-forward of the Rockpile Zins and the 2015 does not disappoint. Aromas of high-toned black cherry are overlaid with cocoa powder and sweet baking spices.
Pomegranate seed is accented by more complex flavors of wild brush, river stone, green peppercorn and roasted coffee.
Briary dark fruit, smoked meat and hints of subtle oak punctuate the nose of this wine. On the entry there is both power and grace in the phenomenal tannin structure and the focus the wine retains. The brooding nature of the fruit is apparent as are the complex layers that this wine has to reveal. Wild berry, graphite and hints of herb are complemented by notes of roasted coffee.
There is both concentration and power. Black cherry and hints of black pepper coalesce into rich notes of baked cobbler in the mid-palate. The lush tannins and bright acid mesh perfectly, showing the wine’s aging potential there is both concentration and power.
The 2015 Westphall Ridge Zinfandel opens to a beautiful combination of black raspberry, white magnolia blossom, and undertones of roasted coffee and cherry cola. On the palate, the entry is full of ripe strawberry flavors that precludes to crushed pomegranate seed and hints of mineral.
Pronounced aromatics of black cherry, milk chocolate, and roasted coffee waft from the glass while an underlying pulse of dried wild brush and earth elements linger with the second evaluation of the wine.
On the entry the wine is round and full, yet it retains its balance, showing a measure of finesse through the finish. Anise, espresso grounds and black cherry coat the palate in glorious fashion. The tannins are velvety but still have enough weight to sustain 8+ years of aging.
Aromas of dried savory herbs, pencil lead, and cranberry interfuse with the sweet oak. The wine has great weight, yet is light on its feet. Fruit of red currant and crème de cassis are complemented by quintessential Cabernet Franc flavors of crushed gravel and flint.
The nose is a mixture of sweet baking spices, dried lavender, baked fruit and wet leather. Refined tannins marry well with the complex flavors of fresh black plum, candied blueberry and roasted coffee on the palate.
The 2014 Rockpile Petite Sirah is dark and brooding. The nose is a beautiful balance between baked blackberry pie, wet stone, and espresso grounds. The palate is round and full, showcasing fresh black plum with nuances of dried summer herbs.
