2019 Rockpile Cabernet Sauvignon

Often there is so much focus on the weather that leads up to the ripening stage that little focus is given to the last 6+ weeks. This period can either extend the window of the harvest period, with foggy mornings and low daily highs, or quickly hasten it, with hot days and warm nights. In 2019, after the onset of veraison, Mother Nature delivered such fair weather that we had the pleasure of being able to delay pick decisions by 6+ days in the absence of elevated sugar levels, to encourage the nuances of aromas and flavors. The result is an energetic and detailed expression of Cabernet Sauvignon with the expected staying power of a Rockpile wine.
