Tasting Notes
Aromatics include coffee, sweet blue and black fruits,
vanilla bean and undertones of savory dried herb. The
texture is seamless, with mountain-grown power and
restraint. This wine resolves perfectly, with a multilayered
and persistent finish of ripe red fruit, spice and
sweet earth tones.
Vineyard Notes
All of our 2019 Rockpile Zinfandels have extraordinary
complexity as well as Rockpile’s inherent staying power,
and this Zin is no exception. It takes its name, Får,
from the Swedish word for sheep, and pays homage to
our family’s heritage as pioneer homesteaders originally
from Stockholm, who raised merino sheep for the wool
on land that is now the heart of our vineyards in
Rockpile.
Winemaker Notes
While 12 months of patient aging will reveal additional
secondary and tertiary attributes, the juicy fruit can be
appreciated now, and throughout the next 5-7 years.
