2021 Chardonnay, Russian River Valley
Russian River Valley
10 months barrel fermented and aged 100% French Oak 20% New Oak
On the nose, enticing aromas of dried sweet Golden Delicious apple, fresh white pineapple and undertones of white flower petal meet hints of freshly baked brioche. On the palate, this wine exudes purity and elegance. The entry is quite fresh and inviting and exudes wonderful creaminess that comes from nine months of intermittent bâtonnage. Subtle minerality frames the crisp green pear and delicate honey notes. Bottled unfiltered, this Chardonnay will drink gracefully over the next 5 to 8 years.
This single vineyard Chardonnay uses grapes grown in the western rolling hills of Sebastopol, in the Russian River Valley. Grown in rare, finely grained Goldridge soil, this late ripening site yields wines with incredible freshness and energy.
Our 2021 Russian River Valley Chardonnay showcases the beautiful ripe fruit of California Chardonnay balanced with the elegance and complexity of its Burgundian ancestor. The wine is 100 percent barrel-fermented with 20 percent new French oak aged on 100 percent gross lees.
