2022 Muscat Blanc, Big Valley District

This is the third iteration of our beautifully aromatic dry Muscat Blanc, showcasing one of the oldest grape varietals in the world. We select the fruit for this wine from just a few rows in one of our family’s organically farmed vineyards in Lake County, ferment the juice entirely in stainless steel and forgo malolactic fermentation, preserving the meticulous nuance of this grape. The nose has a detailed perfume of bergamot, orange rind, sun-drenched jasmine blossom and dried Noisette rose with undertones of freshly minced Hawaiian ginger. For Carrie Mauritson, this Muscat’s exotic aromatics transport her back to her childhood in Durban, South Africa, where she first encountered the intoxicating fragrance of lychee. Absolutely bone dry and energetic, the flavors of this 2022 release are a continuation of the spectacular aromas.
