Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This wine exudes the purity of the ideal essence of Zinfandel
fruit, with aromas of wild blackberry and peach cobbler, sweet
spice, red pluot skin and an underlining pulse of confectioners’
sugar. Wonderful and lifted flavors of young red raspberry,
mineral and bramble frame the firm and youthful tannins. The
finish is long and energetic. Enjoy for the next 7-10 years.
Vineyard Notes
Our Grower’s Reserve Zinfandel celebrates the most
exceptional fruit from the most distinctive vineyards in the Dry
Creek Valley appellation.
While much of the last decade has been defined by warm and
dry growing seasons, the weather in 2023 transported us back
to the much cooler growing seasons of the late 1990s and early
2000s. So instead of harvesting in August, the warmest part of
the growing season, in 2023 we were delayed more than five
weeks, to October, due to mild summer temperatures,
providing more time for the fruit to achieve enhanced color
and tannin development.
Winemaker Notes
The resulting wines have perfect freshness, incredible color and
exceptional structure, as well as an intensity of detail that will
continue to reward with 10+ years in the bottle. In fact, we
believe this vintage will be noted for its longevity as well as its
exquisite beauty.
